Samsung Galaxy A7

Samsung Galaxy A7, 8-core Snapdragon & 5.5-inch display The A series just hit the phablet realm with the announcement of yet another flagship by Samsung. Besides size, the Samsung Galaxy A7 comes with a few other appealing features that are welcome as a new year’s gift to the Korean manufacturer’s devotees. In a nutshell, if we were to compare the Galaxy A7 with the other two flagships; the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5, there is noticeable improvements in screen resolution, screenaluminums size, processing power, battery capability and design. Even though the aluminum unibody in the two preceding devices has been replaced with a plastic back and only a metallic brim in the Galaxy A7, it has been designed to give the impression of a first-rate phone. Samsung Galaxy A7 We are at a loss as to how Samsung managed to attain slimmer dimensions with larger display and better still, light weight! The resolution of the Super AMOLED screen extends to 1080 x 1920 pixels. This results into a concentration of 401 ppi. The beauty here lies in the ability of the phone to show crisp clear images and text. In fact, most phablet owners rarely use them to make or receive calls; they are a preserve for entertainment. Movie streaming or even reading magazines, novels or gaming on the bright screen is alluring to the hoi polloi. On paper, a glance at the hardware specifications of the Galaxy A7 promises great performance. For instance, the Qualcomm 4G model has a 1.5 GHz quad-core Cortex A53 processor to partake of highly demanding tasks and a 1 GHz quad-core Cortex A53 to run the phone on regular tasks. For the Exynos 4G model however, processing power is a notch higher. We have the 1.8 GHz quad-core Cortex A15 CPU for heavier tasks and the 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 CPU for less demanding tasks. The graphics processing unit also varies according to the chipset powering the phone. The Qualcomm model is the one expected to launch in Kenya. In a market where majority of the people are satisfied with 8GB of internal memory, the Galaxy A7’s internal storage of 16GB is laudable. Should you be one of the most enthusiastic users who store loads of stuff on phone, expansion up to 64GB via micro SD is offered. It is expected that there will be no lag in performance given that 2GB of RAM provided on the phone will complement the octa-core processors even when multiple tasks are run at the same time. Screwed in is a 2600mAh Li-Ion battery which has high capability. However, some mobile phone users have had bitter lamentations about being denied the discretion to change batteries. For instance a concern is raised that in case of emergency and the battery is dead, it is much easier and more convenient to insert another charged battery than to look for a power source to recharge. Samsung have been known to move up the spectrum quite fast and they do not hesitate to employ current technology in their devices. Available on the market now is Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system yet onboard the Galaxy A7 is Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. Even though avenues for an upgrade are available, it would have been more mouthwatering to get the very up to date OS from the box. Our complaint should not however create any doubt or dissatisfaction in Kitkat OS. It is a marvelous system to work with.
