Sony Might Exit the Smartphone Business in 2016

According to a recent report, Sony Chief Executive Kazuo Hirai is giving the Xperia smartphone division a year to turn profit or break even in or before 2016. The loss expected from Sony's mobile division(Xperia), has risen from $310 million to $480 million according to current forecasts.
The company's Xperia Z5 premium launched some months ago has being quite interesting. The Z5 premium is the first smartphone to offer a 4k display but with a market share around 1% in the United States, it is unlikely for the device to turn the tables for the Xperia division.
