Angry Birds 2 Review: New and Improved?

Rovio has finally released a sequel to the 2011 classic Angry Birds, even though we have seen several other angry bird titles such as Stella, Go, Bad Piggies etc, they still introduced Angry birds 2 as a direct sequel(okay?).
Interface
On launching Angry birds 2, you are now required to have an internet connection unlike the prequel(and several other prequels). The new level interface will be very familiar to Candy Crush players as it is somewhat similar. The old card theme on the Angry Birds, Angry Birds Star Wars is no more. I kinda liked the Card Interface, but I'll pass.
Gameplay
Angry Birds 2 forgoes the set number of birds of average 3 which it's prequel allowed and now uses a card system. The player has one card with one bird or two cards with different or same birds to use. Bonus cards are awarded based on points racked in-level. Cool
Multistage Levels
Boss fights have been introduced in this game which off the bat is really cool. It is one of the reasons to get this game despite it looking way cartoonish of course.
Impressions
Despite the fact that the game hits a lot of right notes, i still feel some part of it kind of lacking, but its a good game overall and should have already hit 5 million downloads. within one level. The difficulty of the stages vary though, but not by much and seems tiresome.

Gems and Life System
Gems which can be purchased and used to buy power ups in the game are okay at best, but the life system is surely unwelcome. Candy Crush fans may cope with this, but it's rather on the annoying side of the game.
