Tecno L7, 2GB RAM & Dolby audio

For a budget price, Tecno L7 offers 2GB of RAM enough to run multiple apps at a go. Those who read our Tecno F6 review (4.7” HD display, Dolby music, Android KitKat) will immediately recognize similarities between these two devices. With a slightly bigger display and double the memory, Tecno L7 is tailored to provide you with seamless entertainment and productivity needs from a budget 5-inch smartphone. The highlight on this handset however is its unbeatable 3050mAh battery that promises longer talk- and standby times.
Tecno L7
Tecno L7 is hugely inspired by the styling on the Phantom Z. The days when budget smartphones had to look cheap are long gone. Tecno L7 measures only 8.9 mm thick which is comfortably slim. The handset is characterized by narrow bezels, accented side grips and a square homescreen button. The 5-inch TFT display is covered by tempered glass for your outdoors adventures. Above the display sits a 5MP selfie camera bordered by a pair of proximity and ambient light sensors. A 13MP camera complete with autofocus and LED flash occupies the top slot at the back. Next to the camera is an uplink noise cancellation microphone that ensures for clearer calls from noisy surroundings. You will also find the Dolby imprint and mono loudspeaker at the back of the device.
Android 4.4.2 KitKat will keep students and business users pleased with a free document editor and limited free cloud storage. Google’s cloud service makes it possible to work on your documents and spreadsheets with a group of friends without meeting them physically. Paired with KitKat, Tecno provides 2GB of RAM, a 1.3 GHz Quad-core CPU and 16GB of internal storage but misses out on an expansion slot. Lack of secondary storage could be a problem to many users who keep large files onboard. You can however split up some of these files to pen drives since the L7 supports data transfer via USB OTG.
As Tecno R7 eventually gets phased out of the market, the L7 is a smart pick for any heavy user. Its benchmark scores might not be as impressive but Tecno’s latest product is packed with enough memory and battery stamina to keep heavy users contented. Gamers might still want to consider the Phantom Z for its set of powerful processors. For the average user, Tecno L7 is sure to provide a peace of mind whether watching HD movies or updating documents on Google Docs.
